>> Jeroen Zandt
Jeroen specializes in (inter)national litigation, especially focused on trade, transport and insurance matters. Jeroen deals with all various modes of transport: seagoing vessels, inland vessels, road trucks, trains and of course also aeroplanes. Whenever cases are not only legally complex but also contain mathematical, scientific and/or chemical aspects, Jeroen brings additional insight into the case owing to his scientific background.
Jeroen was sworn into the profession in 1998. Aside from his master’s degree in Dutch business law, Jeroen also completed a master of science degree in chemistry at Leiden University in 1994. For business purposes he uses both English and Dutch. Jeroen successfully finished the post-doctorate Grotius programme with a specialization in transport law.
Jeroen worked as an attorney at law at Allen & Overy (previously Loeff Claeys Verbeke, 1998-2001) and subsequently at SchutGrosheide (later to become DLA Piper). In 2005 he established the Amsterdam affiliate of De Vries Advocaten, a partnership with the Rotterdam attorney Geert de Vries. When Geert retired and Codex Mulder was established, Jeroen joined his former SchutGrosheide colleagues at Codex Mulder.
Jeroen is a member of the Dutch Association of Sea and Transport Law (“Nederlandse Vereniging van Zee- en Vervoerrecht, NVZV”), the Marine Insurance Associates (MIA) and the Amsterdam Port Club (“Havenclub Amsterdam”).
As a side activity Jeroen is chairman of the Foundation for Independent Mobility Consultancy (“Stichting Onafhankelijk Mobiliteitsadvies”), a `think-tank for mobility issues.
