Hinno specializes in international trade law, insurance law, aviation law and maritime transport law. He is often appointed by trading companies, banks, and insurance companies, in connection to documentary credits. He assists insurers recovering complex international cargo damages and he often arbitrates in international disputes, such as the manufacturing of yachts.
After sailing around the world Hinno studied Dutch law, international law and Anglo-American law at the University of Amsterdam and the University of Exeter (UK). He was sworn into the profession in 1991. He successfully completed the post-doctorate Grotius programme with a specialization in transport law.
In 1991 Hinno started as a trainee for Jurrian Koetsier and Bram Mulder at their law firm De Koning & Mulder.
In Chambers, Hinno is recommended as one of the “leading individuals” in transport law in The Netherlands. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Transport Lawyers (“Nederlandse Vereniging voor Vervoerrechtadvocaten, NVA”) and the Marine Insurance Associates (MIA). Hinno speaks Dutch, French and English fluently as well as some Arabic. Due to his fluency in French, Hinno often pleads in France.
