>> Bram Mulder
We are sad to have to inform you that our former partner and founder of our firm, Bram W. Mulder, passed away on Tuesday 5 November 2019. The team at Codex Mulder reflects back with respect and pleasure to the long period during which we had the opportunity to work with Bram. Our thoughts go out to Bram’s friends and family.
Bram is an experienced litigator, mediator, arbitrator and advisor. He organizes and directs international proceedings, arbitrations and mediations and is specialized in trade law, especially reinsurance law, non-consumer sale law and transport law.
Bram was sworn into the profession in 1963. He studied Dutch law, English law and private international law at the University of Amsterdam.
Bram started his career as a trainee at the law firm Van der Feltz & Voute. There he delved into trade law, with a specific focus on maritime law usually representing carriers. In 1967 he became a partner of the law firm Dolk, Verburg & De Koning, where he gathered additional expertise in trade law as a cargo interests’ lawyer. In 1974 he established the law firm De Koning & Mulder together with Folkert de Koning and Jurrian Koetsier, which merged with SchutGrosheide in 1999. The subsequent merger in 2004 between SchutGrosheide and the English law firm, DLA prompted Bram to re-establish the law firm De Koning & Mulder together with Jurrian and Hinno. In 2008 he founded Codex Mulder and was soon joined by Jurrian, Hinno and Jeroen.
