Bo has a broad legal background with a strong focus on liability and insurance law, and a good feeling for trade and transport.

Bo studied law in Groningen and Amsterdam. After his studies Bo spent some time in the business sector, working for a bank, an energy company and a legal expenses insurer. During this period Bo developed a strong foundation in civil law and gained experience in several areas of civil law. While completing an additional Master’s degree at the University of Amsterdam, Bo became more and more interested in insurance law. That resulted in him obtaining a PhD in insurance law in 2018 under the supervision of Marc Hendrikse and Jac Rinkes. Next to his PhD research Bo worked as a clerk as part of the insurance law team of the Dutch Financial Services Complaints Authority (Kifid).

Bo has been a lawyer since 2020. He started out in a general civil practice. Bo decided to switch to Codex Mulder because he has a passion for liability and insurance law and the transport industry greatly appeals to him.

In his spare time, Bo likes to listen to music. He also makes music himself. He plays guitar and acts as a DJ. Moreover, Bo likes to run, cycle and row.
